The Chairman's Message

Welcome to the website for the Central Region of the Caravan and Motorhome Club.

Here you will find information about all of the activities being held or organised within this Region.

This includes Certified Locations or Club sites, and also links to the 10 Centres within our region, giving more information of rallies and events for this season.

Centre events are an excellent way to meet like minded people and make new friends. Or maybe you are looking for more specific details regarding events you have heard are being held.

Finally, if you have any questions regarding the Caravan and Motorhome Club, in particular the Central Region, please do not hesitate to contact me or one of the officers via the contact links in this website.

Caravan and Motorhome Club Singers

The Caravan and Motorhome Club are looking for a new Accompanist/Pianist.

The choir was formed 15 years ago and consists of members of the Club who like to cobine their hobby of caravanning and motorhoming with their passion for singing.

The group consists of about 70 people, mainly husband and wife, who meet up 5 or 6 times a year and hold weekend rehersal rallies, with a view to performing concerts for Club events.

Because members come from all parts of the UK, rallies are held mainly in the Midlands area, Leicestershire, Staffordshire and Warwickshire.

Our current Accompanist is stepping down at the end of September and we are looking to recruit an experienced accompanist as soon as possible who has a caravan or motorhome.

Do you have a Centre Treasurer that requires assistance?

If so please contact:

One of the prettiest villages in Derbyshire, Ashover has a fascinating 15th century church, many historic buildings and stunning surrounding countryside. Ashover lies in the valley of the River Amber, about half way between Chesterfield to the North and Matlock to the South. It has a long history dating back to the Saxons who called the village 'Essovre' - beyond the ash trees. The Domesday Book credited it with a church, a priest, several ploughs and a mill, with a taxable value of 30 shillings. Amazingly, this tiny Derbyshire village played a very important role in the Battle of Agincourt in 1415. Traditionally bowmen from Ashover, Men of Asher as they were known, fought with Henry V at the famous battle. One of the local pubs, The Crispin, also has direct links to the momentous event in English history.
